How I ended up here

I first visited Bangkok back in 2015 and 2016 — not as a tourist, but on business trips. I wasn't planning to fall for the city; I was just here for work. But something about it stuck with me, and I kept thinking about it long after those trips ended.

In November 2024, I finally made the move for real — not a short stay, but a genuine long-term relocation. I started out living in Asoke, right in the middle of the action.

  Since 2025, I've been based in On Nut, currently living at The Base Sukhumvit 77. Moving from Asoke to On Nut gave me a very direct, lived-in comparison between two very different parts of the city — one loud and central, one quieter and more residential — which is part of why I write the neighborhood comparisons you'll find on this site.

Why this site exists

 When I first started looking into long-term stays in Southeast Asia, most of what I found online was either outdated, written by someone who visited for three days, or recycled from the same five "digital nomad guide" templates.

 I wanted something different: a running, honest record from someone who is actually here, month after month, dealing with the same rent negotiations, BTS delays, and 7-Eleven runs as you would be.

So that's what this is. Every post on this site — whether it's a neighborhood comparison, a cost breakdown, or a review of a specific bar or cafe — comes from a place I've personally visited or a situation I've personally dealt with while living here. Photos on this site are mine, taken on the ground, not stock images.
